Charles A. Woudenberg was born on August 22, 1924 in N.J. and enlisted in the Army on May 22, 1943 at Newark, N.J. At the time of his enlistment, he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school, and working as a clerk. He joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 86th Infantry Regiment, and also served with Company L, 85th Infantry Regiment.
